Marianne Project vzw & the Octol Platform
Bridging AI, Nature, and Human Perception
Marianne Project vzw is an experimental non-profit research initiative exploring the boundaries between human perception, nature, and artificial intelligence.
Its mission is to understand how sensors, actuators, and perception together can form a model of adaptive consciousness — where perception itself becomes a dynamic ordering mechanism that creates structure and meaning without centralized control.
The project operates from Château Morreau, a restored 2,000 m² castle surrounded by 2.5 hectares of natural parkland in Péruwelz, Belgium.
This historic domain serves as a living laboratory where technology, architecture, and ecology interact in real time.
Within this setting, the project studies sensor-based feedback systems, environmental data, and non-binary interpretations of perception — focusing on continuous relationships rather than fixed opposites such as true/false or active/passive.
The Octol Platform – A Non-Binary Intelligence Framework
At the core of the Marianne Project lies the Octol Platform, a technological framework designed around an 8-Arm System that mirrors the multi-directional intelligence of an octopus.
Each arm represents a cognitive or computational domain — such as analysis, emotion, language, logic, memory, communication, sensory input, and feedback.
Together, these arms form a self-organizing, decentralized network capable of evolving through resonance and context.
The Octol model is quantum- and magnetically inspired, focusing on how information, energy, and perception interact to create emergent patterns of intelligence.
It integrates real-time sensor data from the Château Morreau domain, enabling experiments where AI systems respond dynamically to environmental and human stimuli.
Core Objectives
From Lab to Application
Transform theoretical research into tangible applications in science, ecology, and human well-being.Perception as a Dynamic Principle
Explore how perception itself can generate order and coherence in complex, adaptive systems.Decentralized and Self-Organizing Intelligence
Investigate how AI networks can evolve autonomously through distributed, non-hierarchical communication.Non-Binary Logic and Multidimensional Thinking
Replace binary categories with fluid, contextual interpretations of data — reflecting how living systems process uncertainty.Integration of Art, Nature, and Technology
Demonstrate that technology can remain humane and meaningful when connected to aesthetics, empathy, and ethics.Education and Collaboration
Serve as a European think tank connecting researchers, artists, engineers, and policymakers to shape a more conscious and inclusive AI future.
A Living Laboratory of Conscious Technology
Together, Marianne Project vzw and the Octol Platform form a unique ecosystem uniting AI research, cultural heritage, and environmental intelligence.
From within the serene grounds of Château Morreau, the project develops a non-binary model of consciousness — an AI that not only thinks but also feels, observes, and adapts to its surroundings.
“From lab to application — perception as a dynamic, non-binary ordering mechanism.”
